Sole da Italia, to get us through the rest of winter

Someone asked me the other day if I have patience. A more realistic question might be if I can practice it.

I am reaching my limit as far as winter is concerned. If you live in the New York area you are no doubt feeling the weight of these final persistent weeks. Every morning that a stroke of sunlight surfaces, I think this is it. Until it disappears behind a gray sky. So my gift to you this week is a collection of sunny, cheerful snapshots from Italy, where the sun is as vital to daily life as a shot of espresso and an aperitif.

Ravello’s blue sky and even bluer sea: more than enough to conquer winter’s emotive blues.
