Sunday in Marylebone

Beautiful as posh Mayfair and South Kensington may be, they offer less in the way of ‘quaint neighborhood charm’ than Marylebone, now a destination for residents of bordering areas for the Marylebone Farmers Market. Sundays are for strolling, book shopping, farmers markets, late, lingering lunches at La Fromagerie, and a cup of tea at an outdoor table at one of the many charming cafes on the Marylebone High Street. There is a distinct ‘neighborhood’ feeling, a palpable ‘local-ness’ in Marylebone, as if the rest of London is a world’s away and all that is necessary can be found within this one zone. It seems the perfect environment for families and singletons, young and old. Individual shops, including a world-renowned butcher, high-end decor and home goods, fashion, perfume, and florists are aplenty, and it is only a short walk to leafy St. John’s Wood. All in all the perfect neighborhood for a taste of London and a very relaxing, well-fed Sunday.
